Sylvia Perry, PhD (pronouns: she/her) has expertise in the effects of personal (conscious and unconscious) and systemic bias on the health and wellbeing of racial minorities; and the development and implications of racial bias awareness. She continues to conduct research on the positive and negative consequences of holding racial bias awareness, reducing anxiety within interracial interactions, and increasing people’s willingness to discuss race and racism. She is strongly committed to applying her research expertise to developing solutions for reducing disparities in health, health-care, and education. Through her work she seeks to provide insight into how to structure environments where all groups can thrive and perform well.
